And Precisely There
LETTER BY BRIAN MORYKON
Renovaré staff is off this week but I did want to quickly share two things you may find helpful.
The first is an audio meditation based on the Serenity Prayer recorded by Nathan Foster.
The second is a free live webinar called Living Wisely and Loving Well in the Current Crisis with Chris Hall, Shane Claiborne, Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, and Carolyn Arends on Tuesday, April 14 at 1pm EDT. They will answer some listener questions. Register here.
On this Good Friday, I’m pondering how Bonhoeffer — no stranger to dark days — described the Passion event:
Christ is not gloriously transported from earth into heaven.
He must instead go to the cross.
And precisely there,
where the cross stands,
the resurrection is near.
Precisely here,
where all lose faith in God,
where all despair about the power of God,
God is fully there,
and Christ is alive and near.
In whatever place you find yourself this Easter weekend, may you know resurrection is near.
