Mission of Renovaré
Renovaré USA is a Christian non-profit that models, resources, and advocates fullness of life with God experienced by grace, through the spiritual practices of Jesus and of the historical Church. Christian in commitment, ecumenical in breadth, and international in scope, Renovaré helps people in becoming more like Jesus.

Goal of the Position
In collaboration with the Renovaré Board of Trustees, to develop strategies, resources, and activities to achieve the ministry aim of Renovaré, consistent with the vision and mission.

Chair, Renovaré Board of Trustees

We seek a leader who clearly communicates a vision for the with-God life; who inspires others, by example and word, to explore a deepening personal relationship with the Trinity.

General Responsibilities

  • Nurture intentional community among the Renovaré Board of Trustees, the Renovaré Ministry Team, donors, supporters, friends, and the staff.
  • In collaboration with the Renovaré Board of Trustees, Staff, and Ministry Team, think creatively about current and future projects by steering ideas, discernment, and proposed solutions.
  • Oversee the creation and development of written, audio, visual, and web-based resources to help individuals and communities grow in Christlikeness.
  • Develop relationships with churches, seminary leadership, colleges, and para-church organizations to partner in the work of spiritual formation.

Nurture a Quality Ministry Team

  • Encourage, develop, and elevate the Ministry Team members as the team to carry the work of Renovaré forward through writing, speaking, and teaching in a wide variety of settings.
  • In collaboration with the Renovaré Board of Trustees and Chair of the Clearness Committee, identify and recruit Ministry Team members.
  • In collaboration with the Renovaré Board of Trustees, Ministry Team, and Staff, develop resources that move the vision and mission of Renovaré forward.

Organizational Stewardship Responsibilities

Donor Relations

  • Prepare and deliver on an annual fund development plan.
  • Develop and nurture donor relationships with those who generously contribute to Renovaré through financial support, prayer, or time.

Financial Oversight

  • In collaboration with the Staff Directors, prepare the annual budget and present the budget to the Board Officers for review before submitting it to the Board of Trustees for approval.
  • Demonstrate good stewardship of financial resources entrusted to Renovaré’s care.
  • In collaboration with the Staff Directors, oversee and monitor financial activities including monthly alignment with the annual budget.
  • Inform the Renovaré Board of Trustees about the financial health of the organization through regular and ongoing communication with the Board Treasurer.

Staff Relations

  • Maintain and encourage
    • a culture of trust
    • open and effective communication
    • healthy conflict resolution
    • a sense of community
  • Facilitate an annual in-person staff retreat.
  • In consultation with the Renovaré Board of Trustees, interview, hire, and release employees.
  • In collaboration with the Board Officers, participate in developing personnel policies and procedures in accordance with good management policies and current laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a good sense of Renovaré day-to-day operations.

Travel Requirement

  • Forty-five to sixty overnights per year

Preferred Education

  • A university or post-graduate degree
