Helen earned her D.Min. in spiritual direction from Fuller Theological Seminary focusing on the early church, Ignatian spirituality and Dallas Willard’s works. She also holds an M.A. in Spiritual Formation and Leadership from Spring Arbor University, a certificate from the first cohort of the Renovaré Institute of Spiritual Formation, and a Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Richmont Graduate University. She holds certifications in spiritual direction supervision and Motions of the Soul, using the iEnneagram, Ignatian Spirituality, and spiritual disciplines.
Helen serves St. Thomas Episcopal Church as a spiritual director in addition to virtual and in-person directees throughout the US and other countries. Helen is a member of the teaching team for the Ignatian School of Spiritual Direction at the Jesuit Spirituality Center in Cincinnati. She is also the co-coordinator of the Greater Cincinnati Spiritual Directors Association. She and her husband Jeff live in the Cincinnati area and have three daughters and four grandchildren in various parts of the country. A soul friend to many, Helen enjoys people, sunshine, new experiences, and the inquisitive exploration of ideas.
