Egeria

Egeria

Egeria (also known as Aetheria) was a Spanish-Roman pilgrim to the Holy Land who wrote an extensive letter about her experiences to her Christian sisters. Egeria's letter is considered the earliest written account of a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and is full of details about the spiritual and liturgical practices of the Church in Jerusalem around the year AD 380.
