Why Do Ministries Lose Their Founding Vision?
LETTER BY BRIAN MORYKON
My soul is stirred. I just reread this article by Dallas Willard. It is the only written piece this week. It is enough.
Dallas asks: How do we maintain the vision laid out by a “founder” (or first pastor, etc) without “the loss of the inward fire of vision to the outward accretions of mission or ministry?”
Perhaps you ask this about your church or ministry or small group or family. In response to that article, here is a prayer for us:
Father, rekindle our first love that our hearts may be refreshed in order to love others well. Grant us by your Holy Spirit a fresh vision of your loveliness and kindness and goodness put on display in your son Jesus Christ. Help us then to practice the things you’ve shown us to practice that we might become the people you mean us to be.
