Anne Lowry Pharr holds a B.A. and M.A. in English from Baylor University. In addition to her teaching responsibilities as Professor of English and First Year Seminar at Pellissippi State Community College, Anne served as First Year Seminar program coordinator and also collaborated with colleagues to develop Partners for Student Potential (PSP), a college-wide initiative which worked to deepen and broaden faculty and staff awareness of PSCC students' strengths and challenges.  

Anne completed Renovaré's Institute for Christian Spiritual Formation with the 2022-24 Atlanta Cohort (yay Atlanteans!), and she is on track to complete the Companioning Center's Certificate in Spiritual Direction in May, 2026. Her writing has appeared at InterVarsity's The Well, Red Tent Living, and Companioning Center. 

She and her husband, Tommy, have two adult children and live in Knoxville, Tennessee.
