The Life We Long For
Moving from a life for God to a life with God
September 11–12, 2026
In a culture of hustle and hurry, do you long to trade a transactional faith for a transforming friendship with God?
On September 11 – 12, 2026, Renovaré is hosting a Denver-area regional gathering to explore the journey from a life for God to a life with God. Join Jon Bailey and Mimi Dixon for a weekend of community, teaching, worship, reflection, and conversation. (No prior knowledge of the book Dwelling in Christ is needed.)
The Threefold Way is an ancient, time-tested path of Christian spirituality we will discover anew together during this weekend retreat. Jonathan R. Bailey, author of Dwelling in Christ and co-founder of the Dwell Bible App, and Mimi Dixon, who served senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Golden, Colorado for 34 years, will unpack the Threefold path of spiritual growth:
- Purgation: Learn to release the harmful and unloving things that pull you away from God.
- Illumination: Dwell more deeply in God’s presence as you intentionally and gradually align your heart more and more with his.
- Union: Experience an ever-deepening friendship with God that increasingly transforms you into Christlikeness from the inside out.
This will be a time of learning, reflection, and communal conversation to create space for the Renovaré community in the Denver area to discover the life we long for and move from a life for God to a life with God.
Who is it for?
Anyone in the Denver/Front Range area longing to see a deeper life with God take root in our region, and interested in exploring an ancient path toward healing, wholeness, and transformation.
What to Expect
This weekend event begins Friday evening at 5:00 PM and runs through Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM. Together we’ll share worship, teaching from Jon and Mimi, space for reflection and journaling, a guided prayer experience, and unhurried conversation with one another. Light snacks will be available on Friday evening, and lunch is provided on Saturday. Jon’s book, Dwelling in Christ, releases just ahead of the gathering and serves as a launching point, but no prior reading is needed to take part.
