A Three-Hour Virtual Workshop from Renovaré For Mending Divisions Within and Around Us
As Kingdom people, we are God’s partners in setting things right in the world. To do this, we must open our own wounds and divisions to God’s healing touch.
Kintsugi — the Japanese method of mending broken pottery with gold leaf — provides an apt metaphor for this work of God in our lives. We bear the marks of his repair as signs of possibility as we step into opportunities to mend divisions in our families, neighborhoods, churches, and beyond.
In this three-hour workshop, we’ll explore some of the practical ways God invites us to face brokenness, welcome his grace, and discern spheres of influence in which we can join him as instruments of peace.
Through spiritual practices like meditative prayer, scripture listening, and reflective writing we’ll step into the joy of collaboration in the Trinity’s mission to make all things new.
Hands-on exercises will help participants:
- Face fear of the unknown, strange, or difficult — in ourselves and in others
- Catch God’s vision of peace and wholeness for our pain-laden world
- Discern the spheres of influence in which God can use us as instruments of peace
- Unpack the metaphor of Kintsugi pottery — how our repaired wounds can become a source of beauty and strength
