About the Panelist
Makoto Fujimura

Makoto Fujimura is a leading contemporary artist whose process-driven, refractive slow art” has been described by David Brooks of New York Times as a small rebellion against the quickening of time”. He is an arts advocate, writer, and speaker who is recognized worldwide as a cultural influencer. A Presidential appointee to the National Council on the Arts from 2003 – 2009, Fujimura served as an international advocate for the arts, speaking with decision-makers and advising governmental policies on the arts. His book Refractions” (NavPress) and Culture Care” (IVPress) reflects many of his thesis on arts advocacy written during that time. His books have won numerous awards including the Aldersgate Prize for Silence and Beauty” (IVPress). Fujimura founded the International Arts Movement in 1992, now IAMCultureCare, which oversees the Fujimura Institute.

About the Panelist
Margaret Campbell

Margaret is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Interior Design from the School of Architecture. Her work in the design profession included large commercial projects and residential projects. Margaret was the Coordinator for the 1997 Houston Regional Conference and the 1999 Renovaré International Conference. She joined the Ministry Team in 1999. She serves on the Renovaré Board of Trustees and is a past Chair and Treasurer. She serves on the advisory council for Juanita Rasmus’ ministry and is a Kintsugi instructor. Margaret and her husband, Justin, have two married children and six grandchildren.

Carolyn Arends

Carolyn Arends oversees the Renovaré Institute for Christian Spiritual Formation as well as several other Renovaré initiatives, including the Book Club. She is also a recording artist, speaker, author, and college instructor. She lives near Vancouver, BC, with her husband Mark and their two children.
