Dear Friend,

I have exciting news! I am pleased to announce the selection of Christopher Alan Hall as the new president of Renovaré. Chris has served on the Renovaré Board since 2013. He will be installed as president during the Renovaré Ministry Team meeting in June and begin his tenure on July 1, 2015.
In Chris Hall, God has provided Renovaré with a president schooled in the way of Christ. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work alongside him. Chris is an accomplished leader, teacher, writer, and speaker—but more than that he’s someone who has been deeply formed by Jesus Christ.
Our founder, Richard Foster, says of Chris:

“I am thrilled that Chris Hall is to be the new president for Renovaré. Chris has a wonderful skill set for what we need at this time in our history. More profoundly, his life is a sterling example of the work of spiritual formation into Christlikeness having settled deeply into the very structure of his entire being—body, mind, heart, spirit and soul. I look forward to Chris leading us into a bright and meaningful future for Renovaré.”

By way of introducing you to Chris, here are a few of his accomplishments:

  • Chris has been on the faculty of Eastern University for 24 years; during that time he served as Chancellor, Provost, Dean of Palmer Seminary, and Dean of the Templeton Honors College.
  • Currently Chris serves as the Distinguished Professor of Theology and Director of Academic Spiritual Formation at Eastern University.
  • Chris possesses a PhD in Theological and Religious Studies from Drew University, ThM from Regent College, and MA from Fuller Seminary.
  • Chris has been honored twice by Christianity Today with their annual book awards.
  • He is the author and editor of over twelve books, including Worshiping with the Church Fathers (IVP Academic, 2009).
  • Chris co-authored with Steven Boyer ###em/em### (Baker Academic, 2012), a Christianity Today book of the year in the theology and ethics category.
  • Chris and his wife Debbie have been married 39 years and live in Pennsylvania. They have three grown children, Nathan, Nathalie, and Joshua.

We were patient—waiting, pondering and praying—for over ten months as we listened to the voice of Jesus and sought to do his will. We’re thankful! God has provided a Spirit-led leader. I can’t think of a person more uniquely qualified to guide Renovaré into this new and exciting season. Please hold all of us before the Lord as we begin this beautiful time of transition.
Seek the Kingdom,
