You may have noticed a lot of new activity here at over the past couple of months. As part of our mandate to “model, resource, and advocate fullness of life with God experienced, by grace, through the spiritual practices of Jesus and of the historical Church,” we have committed to sharing resources on our website every weekday. That’s why, Monday-Friday, you’ll find a new article or blog entry posted from a mix of classic and contemporary guides. It’s also the impetus behind our weekly podcast, hosted by Nathan Foster and shared every Monday.

The newest addition to our website resources is our Messages section, where, on an ongoing basis, we will be posting select video and audio recordings we’ve found helpful in nurturing the “with-God” life. We’re particularly excited about our first offering on the Messages platform—a set of video lectures for a course entitled, “Foundations of Christian Spirituality,” taught by our president, Dr. Christopher Hall.

The “Foundations of Christian Spirituality” course was a staple at Eastern University during Chris’s tenure there, and we’re so pleased that his teaching has been captured on video (in concentrated 15-minute excerpts). Many individuals and small groups, as well as some educational institutions, are already using these 22 video presentations in a variety of ways, and we invite you to enjoy them in any manner you find helpful.

Here are some of the questions Chris explores:

What does it mean to have or express faith in Jesus Christ? What is faith? How does it grow or develop? How is faith related to discipleship? Are there divinely given means, spiritual disciplines that can help faith to mature? If so, what are they and how can they be cultivated? How is faith nurtured and how is it harmed? How is faith related to the formation of Christian character? What is Christian maturity? Can it be detected or measured? Are there scientific studies that can help us to understand the faith-growth process? How are faith development and human development related?

Thanks for allowing Renovaré to be a part of your journey! May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope (Romans 15:13).
