Editor's note:

Renovaré’s Chris Hall and Mimi Dixon and Gilmont Camp and Conference Center in Gilmer, TX have an upcoming opportunity for spiritual retreat this February 24-26. Today, we are sharing some information about what a retreat of this kind looks like.

You are invited to grow in mind, body and spirit by experiencing God’s love.

Nestled in the piney woods of Northeast Texas, Gilmont has nurtured the minds and souls of campers since the 1940s, and boasts of a rich history of simple camp pleasures coupled with comfortable facilities on 400 acres of treasured respite.

The Beauty of the Trinity and Spiritual Formation

Join us for the annual Renovaré Life in the Kingdom gathering at Gilmont. Chris and Mimi’s vision is of a retreat that integrates teaching, conversation, small-group interaction, worship, and some space for practice in solitude.

Beginning on Friday afternoon, guests will arrive and register, being sure not to miss the “get acquainted” dinner at 6 PM. The first teaching session, “The Beauty of the Trinity,” is later that evening with music and worship.

Saturday is a full day of morning (“Entering the Great Dance”) and afternoon (“Living Life with the Trinity: the Relational Nature of Spiritual Formation”) teaching sessions with plenty of space in-between for rest, reflection, prayer, and silence.

Chris and Mimi will also offer times of spiritual direction throughout Saturday afternoon. As a bonus, long-time friend of Renovaré, Julia Roller, will be offering a workshop in the later afternoon on “Connecting with Others Through the Neglected Discipline of Hospitality.” The evening will again end with music and worship.

Sunday morning brings some time at the Lord’s table, as Mimi offers communion to the group, with music and worship, fellowship and rejoicing. The retreat wraps up at noon with a box lunch for a picnic on the grounds or to take home.

Our prayer is for a time of insight and encouragement for those who desire to see their faith refreshed, their awareness awakened, and their spiritual formation deepened.

If you are interested in learning more about this retreat, please visit Gilmont’s website for more information, including a short invitational video from Chris and Mimi.
