A Personal Letter From Chris Hall

Dear Friends,

After many months of working from home, I’m grateful to be getting back to things I used to take for granted, most especially being with others in person.

Still, I feel the effects from the long Covid” year. My energy level has decreased. The change is noticeable. I’m simply not able to do what I once could.

Thankfully, when I look at Renovaré, I see a ministry that is healthy financially, relationally, and organizationally, thanks to truckloads of God’s grace. We’re helping people, and that makes me smile.

I now sense the Lord’s permission to move in a new direction in my own life. After 16 years of CEO-type work, my desire is transitioning; I long for more time to write, teach, mentor, and hang out with Deb, the kids and grandkids. I’d like to transition to a slower, less demanding schedule.

The board has been immensely gracious and helpful in working through this with me. As we’ve talked, pondered, and discerned the Lord’s voice about how to facilitate a wise transition, the next steps have come into focus.

My transition from the presidency will occur on February 28, 2022. When the date for the transition was finalized, I sensed within a deep sense of peace, joy, and excitement for Renovaré’s future and my own.

During this transition year I will continue to serve as president, working with the staff, board, and Ministry Team to continue our current work, discern our next president, and facilitate a smooth transition. After February 28, 2022, I look forward to being part of the Ministry Team, and contributing to Renovaré in whatever way is possible and wise.

How grateful I am for Renovaré! I will especially miss regular times of interaction with the staff and board. The friendships I’ve formed mean so much to me and I know they will continue for many years.

God has always been faithful to provide the right people at the right time for Renovaré. It’s been quite remarkable to watch. I’m confident it will be the same for the new president.

Will you join me in asking the Lord to guide us to the person who will lead Renovaré into its grace-filled future?

Blessings,

Chris Hall

Renovaré Announces Presidential Transition Effective February 2022

DENVER, CO. — April 22, 2021 — Renovaré, a nonprofit that offers resources and training to help people become more like Jesus, announced its planned presidential transition will occur on February 28, 2022. Over the last seven years, the ministry has grown under the leadership of current president Christopher A. Hall, 71, who requested the transition in order to spend more time with family.

When the date for the transition was finalized,” Dr. Hall said, I sensed within a deep sense of peace, joy, and excitement for Renovaré’s future and my own. The friendships I’ve formed mean so much to me and I know they will continue for many years.”

Renovaré board and staff unanimously praised Dr. Hall’s leadership of the organization. Richard J. Foster, who founded Renovaré in 1988 and is now retired from public ministry, commented that Chris is a rare blend of heart and intellect who by God’s grace led Renovaré into a season of flourishing.”

Board chair James Catford added, We couldn’t be more pleased with the work Chris has done and continues to do. He has the board’s complete support. We are thankful he has agreed to lead Renovaré until February to give us time to conduct a prayerful and healthy presidential transition process.” Catford also noted, Chris built a tremendous staff and championed a culture of transparency, kindness, and mutual respect. The new president will be starting from a place of strength.”

A search is now underway for the woman or man who will lead the spiritual formation ministry starting in February 2022

Chris Hall concluded his announcement letter to constituents by saying, God has always been faithful to provide the right people at the right time for Renovaré. It’s been quite remarkable to watch. I’m confident it will be the same with this new president.”
